Moosend is the cheapest paid email marketing tool for UK stores on this list. EU data storage and solid core features make it a legitimate option for budget-conscious businesses. The main caveat: the 'free' tier is actually a 30-day trial — it expires.

Moosend is on this list because it undercuts every competitor on price. At £7/month for up to 500 contacts with unlimited sends and EU data storage, there is no cheaper legitimate option for UK stores that want GDPR-compliant email marketing.
The price reality
At 500 contacts, Moosend costs approximately £7/month. Brevo’s Starter plan costs £19/month. Omnisend Standard costs £16/month. GetResponse Email Marketing costs £11/month. The savings are meaningful for a bootstrapped store.
The caveat is that what you save in cost, you partially pay back in capability. Moosend’s Shopify integration is basic, the automation builder less polished than Klaviyo’s, and the community around the tool smaller than the market leaders. For a store where email marketing is a secondary channel and the primary goal is cost efficiency, those limitations are acceptable.
The free trial misunderstanding
Moosend advertises a “free plan” that covers up to 1,000 subscribers. What this actually is: a 30-day free trial. After 30 days, a paid plan is required. This is meaningfully different from GetResponse’s 500-contact permanent free tier or Kit’s 10,000-subscriber permanent free tier. If you are evaluating Moosend primarily for a free tier, reassess.
GDPR compliance
Moosend is a Greek company, and all data is stored in the EU. This is a solid GDPR default — UK transfers to Moosend are covered by the EU–UK adequacy decision. The DPA is available on request.
Our verdict
Moosend is the right choice when price is the primary factor and the limitations are acceptable. If you are a one-person store with a modest list and want the cheapest EU-hosted email marketing tool available, it earns its place. If you need deep Shopify integration, a large permanent free tier, or a well-established community, there are better options on this list.
